Submuscular insertion How to place an implant under the pectoralis major muscle

Supramuscular (submammary) insertion method How to place an implant over the pectoralis major muscle

Dual plane insertion method 2/3 of the implant is under the pectoralis major muscle,
The remaining 1/3 is inserted under the mammary gland tissue.

Advantages Natural waterdrop shape can be formed.
It does not affect the breast cancer examination procedure. 		Little pain after the surgery since it is relatively simple. Little pain after the surgery and natural waterdrop shape can be formed.
Can prevent the phenomenon of double line in which 2-layered crease is formed under the breast.
Disadvantages Patient may experience a bit more pain since the breast tissues and muscles are expanded simultaneously and recovery time can get longer depending on individuals. In the case of dense breast, occurrence rate of capsular contracture is high.
Rippling phenomenon in which implant becomes crumpled can occur. 		Unless it is not performed by medical specialist with abundance of experiences, occurrence rate of side effects increases since it is a highly difficult surgical procedure.

Armpit incision Incision scars is not easily visible as it appears like underarm creases. Slower recovery in comparison to other incision methods
Inframammary fold(IMF) incision Accurate exfoliation is possible since it is possible to secure wider view at the time of surgery and recovery is quicker. Scar can be visible when you lie down.
Areola incision Although it is a revision surgery, it is useful when improving the shape such as sagging breast. Surgery is not possible if areola is small since scars can be left behind.
Umbilical incision Scar is not easily visible since incision is made inside the bellybutton. Accurate exfoliation is difficult due to substantial distance to the breast and since only physiological saline solution can be used as implant, it is not performed nowadays.
