MD breast exam process

When a benign lump is found, removal surgery and breast augmentation can be performed at the same time!

• 

  01 Mammography

  It is the most important test when diagnosing breast cancer in asymptomatic women, and can detect small lesions well.

• 

  02 Ultrasound

  Classify benign lumps (fibroadenomas), malignant lumps (breast cancer), inflammatory lesions (abscesses), and cysts in the breast.
  Its accuracy is very high in checking the state of implants.

• 

  03 Chest X-Ray

  Abnormalities in the lungs, heart, diaphragm, and collarbone, ribs, and thoracic spine can be examined.

• 

  04 Electrocardiogram

  it measures the electric signals of heart through the electrodes attached to skin and records them in graphic format. It is used most extensively in the diagnosis of arrhythmia and coronary artery diseases.

• 

  05 Blood test

  Hemoglobin (anemia), red blood cells, platelets, electrolytes, liver function, kidney function, blood sugar, blood clotting factor, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, AIDS, etc. can be diagnosed.

If abnormal findings are found after breast examination, MD conducts ‘biopsy’

  Thin needle aspiration
  cell examination

  This is the simplest way to check for lumps or cysts in the breast. It is a simple test that uses a thin needle and does not require anesthesia.

  Gun biopsy

  Tissue is obtained by inserting a 1-2 mm injection needle and firing it like a gun. It is performed under local anesthesia.

  Mammotome

  The lesion tissue is collected through a 3 to 5 mm needle. It is performed under local anesthesia and the accuracy of the examination is high.

• 

  Mammotome

  It is possible to excise lump and cyst while looking at ultrasonographic images by inserting thin needle with diameter of 3mm. Procedure is conducted through local anesthesia and there is no concern for formation of scar since the area of incision is sutured with special tape.

  Bexcore

  Tumor is excised through a needle with diameter of approximately 3mm under local anesthesia. It is possible to minimize the tissue losses other than the removal of tumor since the size of needle entry can be adjusted according to the tumor size. Moreover, accurate resection of the tissue is possible through continuous aspiration.
